Dr. Matthew Gambino, a native of South Jersey, joined Mazzuca Eye and Laser Centers as an associate optometrist in June of 2021. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rowan University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a dual minor in Spanish and Anthropology. While at Rowan, he received the anthropology award for academic excellence. In May of 2019, Dr. Gambino graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). During his training at PCO, he received clinical honors at the Wilmington Delaware Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and the Northeastern Eye Institute in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
In June of 2020, Dr. Gambino completed a residency in Ocular Disease at the renowned Wilmington VAMC in DE. He is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. In addition, Dr. Gambino is licensed to practice optometry in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Dr. Gambino is very passionate about all aspects of optometry, including ocular disease, contact lenses, primary care, and low vision. He is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage patients of all ages and backgrounds. He performs comprehensive eye exams with a holistic approach. He believes that each of his patients are unique and listens to their visual and functional needs for them to lead a happy, healthy life.
In his free time, Dr. Gambino loves to be with his girlfriend, Kimberly, and their pug, Fitzgerald. He enjoys traveling, sports, music, art, reading, and continuous learning.
