Dr. Douglas E. Mazzuca, Sr. – RETIRED is a board-certified ophthalmologist who was been in private practice for over 32 years.  He obtained a B.S. from Villanova University and went on to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) receiving his medical degree (D.O). Upon graduating he was given the Wilbur P. Lutz award for proficiency in physical diagnosis.

Residency training was also at PCOM where he served as chief resident. Much of his didactic training took place at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. The last year of his residency was served at the Medical Center of Delaware (now Christiana Care) in Wilmington, DE.

Dr. Mazzuca was the first ophthalmologist to perform refractive surgery (RK, LASIK, PRK, Epi-LASIK) and small incision cataract surgery in Salem County. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Medical Society of New Jersey, and was previously the President of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Mazzuca Sr. has retired from the practice of Ophthalmology in 2021
Dr. Mazzuca was born in Philadelphia and was raised in South Jersey. He has been married for over 39 years to his wife Andrea. They have 5 children and live in Delaware.
